Inter-School Soccer Tournament

St. Luke’s National School Junior Team played in the Inter-Schools’ Soccer Tournament in Ashton School on Saturday, 28th of April. The tournament started at 10 o’clock. First we played Cork School Project. We beat them 7-0. The goal scorers were Ross Bailey, Seán Coombes and Luke McCormack. We had a little break before the next match. We played St. Luke’s, Montenotte. It was a very tight game until St. Luke’s, Douglas found an opening and Nicky Greene found the back of the net. The final score was 1-0 to St. Luke’s, Douglas. We knew our last match against St Mary’s, Carrigaline was going to be difficult. The score stayed equal for the whole match. When the final whistle went, we were all disappointed until we heard that we beat them on goal difference. We couldn’t believe that we won the tournament…three times in a row!                                                                         Anton Frank, Rang 4
